Large items

Large household items that won't fit in a garbage bag can be picked up on the same day as your regular garbage collection service. Book at least two business days in advance. A maximum of four items can be collected per pickup.

Only single-family homes and apartments with two to six units are eligible for this service.

Eligibility and limits

  • Available for single-family homes and apartments with two to six units
  • Maximum of four items per collection, per eligible unit
  • Items must be too large to fit in a garbage bag — smaller items go in your regular garbage

  • Disassemble items before putting them at the curb where possible

Niagara-on-the-Lake: Property managers of eligible mixed-use and multi-residential properties must contact their collection contractor to book a large item collection.

Appliances and metal items

Take appliances and metal household items to a Niagara Region drop-off depot, or contact a private scrap metal company for pickup.

Is your item still usable?

If your item is in good condition, local organizations and businesses may accept it. Use the item disposal guide to find donation and reuse options before booking a pickup.
