  • Explain your health care options and what might work best for your family
  • Help you apply or register with a new family doctor or the Health Care Connect list

There are three main ways to access primary health care in Niagara. Each option offers different benefits depending on your needs.

Community health centres

Team-based care with wraparound support

Best for:

  • Holistic care for addressing multiple needs
  • Access to social supports and programs
  • Language or culturally-specific care

Walk-in clinics

Same-day care when you need it

Best for:

  • Acute, non-emergency care needs
  • Minor illnesses and injuries
  • Immediate care without an appointment

Walk-in clinics

Walk-in clinics offer same-day care for minor illnesses and injuries when you don't have a family doctor or your doctor is unavailable. Most don't require appointments.

Walk-in clinics are helpful for immediate needs, but they don't provide continuity of care. Whenever possible, registering with a family doctor gives you access to after-hours care and ongoing medical support.
